The
Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office launched a community information service called Nixle
in 2010. This service is
designed to deliver important and timely information to
residents in our area using the latest technology.
Through Nixle, the Sheriff’s Office will be able to deliver trustworthy, important, and neighborhood-level public safety and event notifications instantly. Messages can be sent via text message, email, or be available for viewing on the Nixle website. Citizens will be able to choose how they receive messages when they sign up. There is no spam or advertising.
Information to be sent out will include temporary road closures due to accidents and other hazards, weather & missing person bulletins, media releases and other valuable alerts.
Nixle is available at no cost to the sheriff’s office or citizens; however standard text message rates will apply.
