Who has to file?
Anyone who owns a manufactured home located or registered in Sedgwick County as of January 1st that is not permanently affixed to real estate must file a Personal Property Rendition with the Appraiser's Office each year per Kansas Statute 79-303 and 79-306. A description and a location of the mobile home must be included on the rendition.
Where can I get a Personal Property Rendition?
There three ways you can obtain a Personal Property Rendition.
By coming into the Appraiser's Office or sending us a request by mail to our office located at 4035 E. Harry Street, Wichita, KS 67218;
By calling our office at 316-660-9110; or
By requesting a blank rendition by e-mail.
Can I file an Electronic Manufactured Housing Rendition?
Yes, Our office does accept, and encourages, electronic filing. There are several ways to file electronically.
Are there any filing deadlines?
Yes, Per Kansas Statute 79-306, the deadline for rendering personal property is March 15th of each year. To avoid incurring state mandated penalties, renditions must be filed by the deadline date. Counties have no authority to abate, waive, or refund the penalty mandated by K.S.A. 79-1422. Only the Board of Tax Appeals has the authority to abate, waive, or refund the penalty.
