Arena Sales Tax Committee
The Sales Tax Oversight Committee is a group of 10 citizens appointed by Commissioners for the purpose of reviewing Arena Sales Tax revenues and expenditures and ensuring the public that taxpayer dollars are being used properly in accordance with the purposes for which the Arena Sales Tax was authorized.
Arena Sales Tax Earnings:
The one percent sales tax began July 1, 2005 and continued for 30 months. The original projected revenue was $184.500-million; the revised projected revenue was $205.500-million; and the actual revenue was $206.538-million. The County received receipts from the state through the end of February, however, the sales tax ended at the end of December 2007.
