Floodplain Management Task Force Final Report - December
2005
The Floodplain Management Task Force was formed in
January 2005 with a charge to evaluate current policy
and practice of regulating development within
floodplains and to make recommendations of any needed
change in policy and practice to the Sedgwick County
Board of Commissioners and Wichita City Council.
Concerns regarding development within floodplains and
the reduction of present and future flood hazards were
incorporated into recommendations. Business,
environmental, and neighborhood interests were taken
into account. The Task Force has identified, discussed
and developed recommendations and is recommending that
the Wichita City Council and the Sedgwick Board of
County Commissioners accept the
Floodplain
Management Task Force Final Report (

MB) and direct the City and County Managers to
work together to move the Report's recommendations
forward.
