Sedgwick County's Community Development Department assists various organizations in the County with economic assistance and serves as liaison between local government units. To this end, the office coordinates a number of programs: oversight of Sedgwick County’s role in the Metropolitan Area Planning Department, funding for Wichita Transit bus service to Oaklawn, and grant awards to small cities. Additionally, the Department manages the County’s housing and economic development programs.
