Dissolved Oxygen Data
Dissolved oxygen is the amount of oxygen available for aquatic life to process. Aquatic animals use oxygen gas bubbles in the water to pass through their gills and process into a breathable resource. This is a diffusion process and only works with a certain level of oxygen in the water.
The recommended value of dissolved oxygen is 4.8 ppm or
higher. The unit used for measurement is "parts per million," or
ppm.
