Don Brace

Donald C. Brace was elected Sedgwick County Clerk in November 2000 and took office in January 2001.  He has previously worked for 12 years as Director of Central Services for Sedgwick County.

A native of Whitehall, New York, Don served 4 years as an enlisted member of the US Air Force.  He later graduated from Syracuse University and entered the United States Air Force as a second lieutenant.  He is a retired colonel, having served as Base Commander of Wichita’s McConnell AFB, Commander of the 384^th Air Refueling Squadron, and Deputy Commander for Operations for the 384^th Air Refueling Wing, among other military assignments.

Don and his wife Nancy have two children.  He is a member of the Derby Chamber of Commerce, Derby Faith Lutheran Church, the Derby Community Foundation, Flight Commander of the Order of Daedalians and Chairman of the Soldiers and Sailors Civil War Monument Restoration Committee.
