Voting in a Mail Ballot Election

Mail Ballot Elections differ from other elections in that all ballots are mailed to voters, and no polling places are open on Election Day. Each voter must mail or personally deliver his or her ballot in the return envelope to the election office of the voter’s residence county by 12 noon on Election Day to be counted.

Voters registered prior to May 4 will receive a ballot automatically. Voters registering between May 4 and May 17, the date registration closes, must apply for a ballot from their county’s election office in order to receive a ballot. Ballots will be mailed out May 12, and voted ballots will be accepted in the election office from May 15 through 12 noon on June 1.

Advance Voting

Advance Voting is available to voters who will not be at their residence during the voting period. Click this Advance Voting Application link to download an application if you want a ballot mailed to an address other than your residence address.
