Sedgwick County is "Storm Ready"  At their March 14, 2001 meeting, meteorologists with the National Weather Service declared Sedgwick County as "storm ready" for the 2001 spring severe weather season.  The voluntary program requires participants to establish plans for communications, weather monitoring, reception of information, disseminating warnings, community preparedness and administrative activities.  Four other areas in Kansas are also storm ready.  For more information, visit The National Weather Service Storm Ready Web site.
