  1. Are fireworks legal in Sedgwick County?

    Fireworks are illegal to sell, buy, possess or shoot in all unincorporated areas of Sedgwick County. In other words if you are in Sedgwick County but not within any of the various city limits, fireworks are illegal.
  1. So I can sell, possess, or shoot fireworks in the different cities of Sedgwick County?

    In some cities you can, in others they are still illegal. Check with the city in question to find out the regulations.
  1. Can I sell or store Fireworks in a building?

    If you are in a City in the Fire District that allows fireworks, the general answer is “no”. To sell or store fireworks in a building you must get prior approval from the Sedgwick County Fire Department.
  1. What is the fine for possessing, selling, or shooting fireworks where they are illegal?

    Fines can be as much as $1000 or more plus confiscation of fireworks.
  1. Can I get a permit to shoot fireworks in Sedgwick County?

    Yes you can, but you must be a State licensed fireworks display operator, provide liability insurance for the display, apply and pay for the permit and apply with all rules.

    Under the permit there can be no shooting of fireworks by anybody but the licensed shooter unless the local city allows common fireworks.
