Residential Day Care Facilities
On July 1, 2010, Lexie’s Law (House Bill 2356) took effect in the State of Kansas and brought changes to child care licensing. The new law increases protections for children and supports families in making informed child care choices.
As of September 1, 2010, the Sedgwick County Fire Department no longer provides fire inspections for residential child care. The Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office will be conducting these inspections.
