Sedgwick County...working for you

County Manager

Manager's Message

February 10, 2015

It is time once again to seek nominations for the Excellence in Public Service Award.  This program, sponsored by the DeVore Foundation, is an opportunity for us to highlight the work of dedicated public servants.  You have the opportunity to recognize your neighbors and friends who work in local government for their commitment to providing quality public service and reward their volunteer activities in the community.  One person from Sedgwick County, one from the City of Wichita and one from Wichita Public Schools will be selected to receive this award.

This will be the 28th year the DeVore Foundation has generously sponsored this program.  They help us to place a spotlight on the role of a public service employee and the delivery of quality public service in our community.  Each award recipient will receive a $2,500 check and a reception in their honor.

Nomination forms may be completed online at by 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 10th.  Nominations should provide as much recent detail and information as possible to demonstrate how the individual makes a significant contribution to Sedgwick County and the community.  If you have any questions please contact Communications and Community Initiatives at 660-9370.

At Sedgwick County, we take pride in telling our story and informing the community about all the wonderful work we do. I encourage you to take the time to nominate a worthy colleague.  I know there are many outstanding candidates working among us for the citizens of Sedgwick County.
