Open and Transparent Government
Sedgwick County is working for you to make information about county business easily available to citizens. In doing so, the following tools and lists have been compiled as a one-stop resource.
Advisory Boards
Sedgwick County advisory boards, coalitions, committees and task forces are subject to the Kansas Open Meetings Act (KOMA), which generally requires all discussion to be held in a setting that is free and accessible to the public.
These boards are comprised of community volunteers, staff members and elected officials; some board members are appointed by commissioners.
Board of Bids and Contracts
It is the function of the Board of Bids and Contracts to review and consider any recommendation for purchases made by a county department or the director of purchasing (or designee) and to direct their recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners for subsequent review and consideration prior to the finalization of any purchase order/contract.
The meetings of the Board of Bids and Contracts are now available for view via video.
