Sedgwick County Division of Finance Earns Multiple Honors

(Sedgwick County, Kan.) – The Sedgwick County Division of Finance has earned several honors recently that recognize our staff’s consistently accurate and thorough work in the areas of financial accounting, reporting and overall performance. These accomplishments include: 

  • Moody’s – one of the preeminent credit rating agencies for municipal debt issuers – has reaffirmed Sedgwick County’s Triple-A credit rating and assessed our financial outlook as This objective ‘report card’ should reassure taxpayers that Sedgwick County is a responsible steward of their money and the public services they provide.
  • FORVIS – Sedgwick County’s external auditor – reviewed our financial reporting for calendar year 2022, as well as our policies and procedures used to produce the report, and determined the information was presented fairly and without any material misstatement. This is the third year in a row the independent third-party has underscored the integrity of Sedgwick County’s financial reporting as reliable data taxpayers can trust.
  • Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2021. An impartial panel judged the report as meeting the highest standards of governmental accounting and financial reporting by demonstrating a “spirit of full disclosure” to our Sedgwick County residents.

Sedgwick County residents can rest assured their tax dollars are being safeguarded by our capable finance professionals.”
