The Sedgwick County Fire Department is truly working for the residents of Fire District 1.  In addition to fighting fires, they protect citizens through medical care, search and rescue, hazardous material cleanup, inspections and ... well, just watch this video and see for yourself.

Sky Lanterns Banned

Aerial luminaries, or sky lanterns, have been banned in the unincorporated areas of Sedgwick County to prevent damage to life and property from fire.
