Get Involved - Volunteer

CERT

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) provides training in emergency preparedness and basic response techniques enabling citizens to take a more active role in personal and public safety.

ESU

The Emergency Support Unit is a volunteer team organized under Emergency Management to provide support to fire, law enforcement and disaster operations in the form of emergency light trucks and emergency power generation.

K9 Search Team

The K9 Search Team provides search dogs for law enforcement and fire rescue agencies in and around Sedgwick County when requested, and at no cost to the agency or families involved.

The team responds to calls for missing or lost persons, disasters, and human remains recovery.

MRC

The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) volunteers locally organize and utilize medical professionals and others to promote healthy living throughout the year and prepare for and respond to public health emergencies.

MMRS

Metropolitan Medical Response System is an operational system at the local level that responds to terrorist incidents and other public health emergencies that create mass casualties or casualties requiring unique care capabilities.

RACES

The Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) is an organization of amateur radio operators who volunteer to provide radio communication for Emergency Management in times of disaster
