EMS Named a "Health Care Hero"

Sedgwick County EMS was selected as a 2011 “Health Care Hero” by the Wichita Business Journal for contributions to improving health care in Wichita and the surrounding area.

The award is in the health care innovations category, which honors a person or organization for breakthroughs in medical technology ranging from research to a new procedure, device or service.

Recently, Sedgwick County EMS has implemented a number of software upgrades that have improved automated scheduling, patient care reporting, and deployment practices, among others.

“We are honored to have been nominated for this award and even more grateful to have received it,” said EMS Director Scott Hadley. “This award is important because it recognizes health care contributions on a local level, which of course is where it matters most to our residents. It should be noted that the efforts to improve technology and processes have been collaborative among the entire health care system, so we share this award with those agencies too.”
