Sedgwick County Park offers many facilities
and activities including:
Store: The park has its own store located at the
park
office where visitors can purchase fishing licenses, bait, tackle, soft drinks, candy,
and sandwiches.
Fishing:
A Kansas fishing license is required before you can fish. There is
a four fish limit. Fishing docks are available.
Enclosed Shelters:
- Horseshoe & Plum:
Maximum capacity: 80 persons
Cost: $90 a day + deposit
- Sunflower:
Maximum capacity: 150 persons
Cost: $150 a day + deposit
Open Shelters:
- Small:
#5 Shelter - $25 a day
- Medium:
#1, #2, #3 Shelters - $40 a day
- Large:
#4 Shelter - $60 a day
Barbeque Grills rent for $40.00
Equipment rental: horseshoes, volleyball and net, and bocce ball: rent for
$2.00 an hour.
The tennis court, softball diamonds, horseshoe pit, volleyball court,
and the bocce court are first come first serve.
Public Notice
Sedgwick County Parks has filed an application for permit to appropriate water
for beneficial use, identified as File No. 47,006, with the Division of Water
Resources, Kansas Department of Agriculture. The application proposes the
appropriation of 10 acre-feet of groundwater to be diverted at the maximum rate
of 35 gallons per minute from a groundwater well for irrigation and recreational
use. The proposed groundwater well will be located in the northwest
quarter of the southwest quarter of the northeast quarter (NW1/4 SW 1/4 NE 1/4)
of Section 10, Township 27 South, Range 1 West, Sedgwick County, Kansas.
This is a proposed project sponsored by the Rotary Club for a playground and
fountain within the park property.
Anyone with existing wells in the immediate vicinity of the proposed point of
diversion is invited to submit written comments regarding Application, File No.
47,006. Persons submitting comments should specifically indicate their
interest in the proposed appropriation. Comments regarding the application
will be accepted through June 20, 2008.
