Detention Graduation 4.3.24

The Wichita/Sedgwick County Law Enforcement Training Center proudly announces the graduation Ceremony for the 2024 Detention Academy Class #2 of the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.  The commencement will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday April 11, 2024, at Assembly of God Church. This is located at 4501 W. Douglas, Wichita, KS 67209.

Sedgwick County Sheriff Jeff Easter will welcome 15 new deputies to the Sheriff’s Office. This transition comes after completing 7 weeks of basic academy training which included such topics as interpersonal communication, policy and procedure, legal issues, computer training, and defensive tactics. 

After graduation the recruits will begin several weeks of field training where they will work as partners with veteran deputies in the detention facility. 

A reception for the graduates, family members, friends, and honored guests will follow the ceremony.
