The Sedgwick County Department of Corrections, COMCARE, Department of Aging and Disability, Kansas Department for Children and Families, and the Wichita State Community Engagement Institute partnered to develop a proactive approach to address barriers for youth that have a Mental Health (MH) diagnosis and/or an Intellectual/Developmental Disability (I/DD) who are exhibiting a pattern of dangerous behavior that could or has led them to criminal justice involvement. The IJP approach and partnerships were developed in 2023 - 2024 to provide resources for youth and families in the community. All requests pertaining to the Sedgwick County IJP process, referrals, information and completed documents can be sent to DOC_IJP@sedgwick.gov.
