NON-EMPLOYEE COURTHOUSE ENTRY ACCESS CARD PROCESS
- Non-employee courthouse entry access cards are valid for 2 years from the date of issuance.
- Applicants will need to submit a Kansas Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint-Based Record Check as well as provide a Federal Bureau of Investigations Identity History Summary record. Both records must be dated within 60 days of the submission of the application.
- Fingerprinting services for KBI history checks are available at the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, Offender Registration Office, 525 N. Main St., as well as through private vendors. Fingerprinting services for FBI history checks can be obtained at certain United States Post Offices or through approved private businesses known as approved channelers. - Completed applications along with the KBI, FBI backgrounds and application fee of $35, must be presented, in person, to the Sedgwick County Clerk’s office, 100 N. Broadway, Wichita KS, Suite 620, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, with the exception of county observed holidays. The applicant will need to provide proof of identity, a government-issued ID card, driver's license or U. S. Passport at the time of application; the City of Wichita ID is not accepted.
- At the time of application submission, the applicant’s photograph will be taken for the Non-Employee Access Card.
- Please allow 30 days for the application to be processed. The applicant will be notified when the application is approved or denied. Upon approval of the application, the Non-Employee Access Card can be picked up at the Sedgwick County Clerk’s office, 100 N. Broadway, Suite 620.
- Lost or stolen cards must be reported to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office and may be replaced for a $20 fee. This request should be made when reporting the missing card, and will be forwarded to the County Clerk’s Office for processing and reproduction.
- Certain information obtained in the application may be subject to the Kansas Open Records Act (K.S.A. 45-215 et seq).
