Burn Ban Lifted by Sedgwick County Fire District 1, Area Departments

Due to improved conditions, Sedgwick County Fire District 1 (SCFD1), its member cities and multiple participating cities will lift the burn ban Friday, Sept. 11, at 7 a.m.

With cooler weather, precipitation and improved forecasts, models have lifted Sedgwick County out of severe burn conditions.

Those with active burn permits will be allowed to resume burning, and new permits are available to be issued.

Residents should contact their respective fire departments with questions about local outdoor-burning requirements, as not all jurisdictions implemented burn bans.
