Final Unofficial Election Night Results for 2026 Wichita Special Election
(Sedgwick County, Kan.) – Final Unofficial Election Night Results for the 2026 Wichita Special Election are available for viewing at Sedgwick County | 2026 Special Election Results.
These results include early in-person ballots, advance by mail ballots and all Election Day in-person ballots. The results will not be official until the canvass is completed March 10.
There are no automatic recounts in Sedgwick County.
Per K.S.A. 25-1132, any mail ballots received after 7 p.m. on Election Day will not be counted. The Sedgwick County Election Office sent 11,195 mail ballots.
An additional update to the unofficial results will be released Wednesday afternoon. This update will include mail ballots retrieved from drop boxes or polling locations on Election Day.
Provisional ballots will be reviewed and counted at the 2026 Wichita Special Election Canvass, which begins on Tuesday, March 9 at 9 a.m. at the Election Office. The results will be certified when the canvass reconvenes Wednesday, March 10 at 2 p.m. at the Election Office. Media personnel and the public are welcome to attend the canvass. Official final results will be released after the canvass.
