Free Mattress and Bulky Waste Disposal Vouchers Available

(Sedgwick County, Kan.) – Sedgwick County Environmental Resources will distribute vouchers for free disposal of bulky waste and mattresses, open to all Sedgwick County residents, through Oct. 30, 2026.

Residents may request a voucher by contacting Environmental Resources at 316-660-7200.

The mattress voucher allows citizens to dispose of up to two mattresses or box springs of any size at no charge. The vouchers are valid for 30 days and will be accepted Monday-Saturday at Brooks Landfill, 4100 N. West Street in Wichita. No unloading assistance will be provided, and no other furniture, appliances or trash will be accepted. There is a limit of one voucher per residence, while supplies last.

Bulky waste vouchers allow for the disposal of up to 1,000 pounds at no cost. The items can include furniture, rags and carpet, countertops, tree limbs, large appliances and other acceptable items. Vouchers are valid for 30 days and may be used Tuesday-Saturday at the Waste Connections Transfer Station, 4300 W. 37th St. N. All individuals must wear a high visibility vest at the Transfer Station.
