Board of County Commissioners
- BoCC approved the minutes from the regular meeting on May 20, 2026.
- BoCC accepted the resignation of Kim Landers from the Sedgwick County Aging and Physical Disabilities Advisory Council.
- BoCC accepted the resignation of Cameron Dawson from the Sedgwick County District 3 Citizens Advisory Board.
- BoCC accepted a $750,000 donation from the Unlikely Collaborators Foundation for the Pinnacle Health and Wellness Center.
- BoCC approved the issuance of up to $450 million in taxable Industrial Revenue Bonds by the City of Wichita for the construction, renovation, expansion and equipping of Boeing manufacturing facilities at 31st S. and 47th St. S.
- BoCC approved the issuance of up to $5 million in taxable Industrial Revenue Bonds by the City of Wichita to finance the costs of a manufacturing and research facility to be leased to Air Capital Flightline on Boeing Wichita’s campus on South Oliver. The building will be subleased to the National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR).
- BoCC approved the recommendations of the Board of Bids and Contracts’ regular meeting on June 4, 2026.
- BoCC received and filed a presentation of 2026 Mini MPA certificates.
Upcoming Events
- Exploration Place will hold the Wichita Duck Race on Friday, June 12. Participants can adopt a rubber duck to be released into the Arkansas River. Each duck is numbered and if yours crosses the finish line first, you win $10,000. Following the race, stay around for RiverFlix at the Wichita Foundation Amphitheater featuring Disney's The Mighty Ducks. The movie begins at sunset, estimated at 8:50 p.m. Wichita Duck Race
- The 15th Annual Smoke on the Plains Derby BBQ & Music Fest will be held June 12 and 13 at High Park, 2801 E. James St. The free event includes a people’s choice tasting contest, children’s activities, live music, food trucks and more. Smoke on the Plains Derby BBQ & Music Fest
- Sedgwick County offices will be closed on Friday, June 19, for Juneteenth. Emergency services will be available by dialing or texting 911.
