Board of County Commissioners

BoCC approved minutes from the regular meetings on Aug. 26, Sept. 2 and Sept. 9, 2026.
BoCC accepted the resignation of Ronald Colbert from the Sedgwick County Aging and Physical Disabilities Advisory Council.
BoCC approved the recommendations of the Board of Bids and Contracts’ regular meeting on Sept. 17, 2026.
BoCC approved a transaction fee increase for the Sedgwick County Treasurer’s Office with the specified modifications. The fee will increase by $2.75, going from $5 to a total of $7.75 beginning Jan. 1, 2027.
No binding action was taken during an executive session.

BoCC approved minutes from the fire meetings on Aug. 5, Aug. 12, Aug. 19 and Aug. 26, 2026.

The Wichita Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (WAMPO) is holding several open houses to hear ideas on how to make transportation easier and safer as part of the Strengthening Transportation Alternatives for the Region (STAR) Plan. The Sedgwick County Local Emergency Planning Committee, in partnership with Sedgwick County Emergency Management, will be holding its second annual Emergency Preparedness Safety Expo on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Century II Expo Hall. The event will feature live demonstrations, hands-on activities and dozens of stations with information you need to know to protect yourself, your community and your property from harm. The Wichita Foundation Amphitheater at Exploration Place is hosting RiverFlix for the 2026 season. The public is invited to bring blankets, snacks and a sense of adventure, with food trucks and seating opening at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to all ages. There is no movie on Sept. 25. The movie on Oct. 2 will be ‘Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo.’ RiverFlix at Exploration Place
