Voter Registration Deadline Nears for 2026 General Election

(Sedgwick County, Kan.) – Less than one week remains before the Oct. 13 deadline for Sedgwick County residents to register to vote or update their information ahead of the 2026 General Election.

 

To cast a ballot in the General Election, a person must be:

  • A citizen of the United States
  • A resident of Sedgwick County
  • At least 18 years old by General Election Day on Nov. 3
  • Registered to vote by Oct. 13, 2026

 

Online voter registration applications are available at Welcome - Kansas Online Voter Registration (ks.gov). Residents can also register by mail or in person at the Sedgwick County Election Office, 3639 N. Comotara St. in Wichita, with a valid Kansas driver’s license, a non-driver’s Kansas identification card or by providing the last four digits of their Social Security number.

 

Registered voters must update their information if they have moved or changed their name. Voters can check their registration status at Kansas Secretary of State | VoterView (voteks.org).

 

The Election Office will be open to the public on Columbus Day, Monday, Oct. 12, from 8 a.m.-noon. The deadline to file as a write-in candidate for offices of a first-class city and higher is Oct. 12 at noon.
