COVID-19 Traveler Information

As of June 12, 2022, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will no longer require air passengers traveling from a foreign country to the United States to show a negative COVID-19 viral test or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before they board their flight. Travel from the United States to a foreign country may still require testing based on the country’s current requirements. In the past 14 days, if you have you have recently returned from a county, state or country with a CDC travel advisory or with known widespread community transmission (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/map-and-travel-notices.html), you may be at higher risk for COVID-19. All travelers are recommended to get tested for COVID-19 3-5 days after arrival and monitor for COVID-19 symptoms for 14 days after travel.
- IF YOU ARE UP TO DATE FOR VACCINATION: People up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations with are not required to quarantine following travel if they meet all of the following criteria:
- People who are up to date for vaccination
- Up to date means having all recommended COVID-19 vaccines, including booster dose(s) at the time of travel
- You must be at least 14 days from the date of your second dose of Pfizer/Comirnaty or Moderna/Spikevax or single-dose of Johnson & Johnson at the time of travel to be considered exempt from quarantine.
- Have remained asymptomatic since the travel
- PEOPLE WITH PREVIOUS COVID-19 DISEASE WITHIN THE PAST 90 DAYS: People with previous COVID-19 disease are not required to quarantine following travel if they meet all of the following criteria:
- Have evidence of a previous infection supported by a positive PCR or antigen test done by a provider (excludes antibody or at-home antigen tests)
- Are within 90 days following infection
- Have remained asymptomatic since the travel
Persons who do not meet the above criteria should continue to follow current quarantine guidance for travel below based on vaccination status.
- IF YOU ARE FULLY VACCINATED BUT NOT UP TO DATE: People who are fully vaccinated, but are not up to date for vaccinations (having all recommended COVID-19 vaccines, including booster dose(s) are recommended to
- Stay home and self-quarantine for a full 5 days after travel.
- Get tested with a COVID-19 viral test 3-5 days after arrival.
- Monitor for symptoms; isolate and get tested if you develop symptoms.
- IF YOU ARE NOT FULLY VACCINATED: People who are not fully vaccinated are recommended to
- Stay home and self-quarantine for a full 7 days after travel even if you test negative.
- Get tested with a COVID-19 viral test 3-5 days after arrival.
- Monitor for symptoms; isolate and get tested if you develop symptoms.
Prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses such as flu and COVID-19:
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
- Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
- Use hand sanitizer
- Clean surfaces frequently.
