COVID-19 is a respiratory disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus that has spread globally.

In the past 14 days, if you have you have recently returned from a county, state or country with a CDC travel advisory or with known widespread community transmission (https://www.coronavirus.kdheks.gov/175/Travel-Exposure-Related-Isolation-Quaran), you may be at higher risk for COVID-19:

Call your local county health department right away after you return home. If you live in Sedgwick County, call the Sedgwick County Health Department, 316-660-7300.

Avoid contact with the public and self-monitor at home for 14 days.

COVID-19 Symptoms:

While anyone can be infected, most people experience mild symptoms and do not need a hospital.

Symptoms are fever (100.4⁰F or above), cough, and difficulty breathing.

People most at risk for severe disease are older adults and those with underlying conditions such as heart disease.

Symptoms appear 2-14 days after exposure.
Prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses such as flu and COVID-19:

Avoid close contact with people who are sick

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth

Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds

Use hand sanitizer

Clean surfaces frequently.
