Sheriff’s Office Continues Investigation Into Fatal Shooting at Mobile Home Park
SEDGWICK COUNTY, Kan. — The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a fatal shooting that left a 14-year-old boy dead at the Englewood Mobile Home Park.
At about 3 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2026, deputies responded to an unknown call for emergency medical services in the 3200 block of East MacArthur Road. Dispatchers quickly updated the call to a shooting.
First responders arrived and found Jesus Merino Terrero, 14, who lived at the home, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Despite life-saving efforts, he died at the scene.
An autopsy has been completed. Detectives continue to investigate the shooting, which remains under investigation to determine what occurred. No arrests have been made at this time, and all parties involved in the incident have been identified.
