Update on Oaklawn Fatal Shooting Investigation

SEDGWICK COUNTY, Kan. — The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is providing an update on the investigation into a fatal shooting that left 14-year-old Jesus Merino Terrero dead Tuesday morning, April 28, 2026, at the Englewood Mobile Home Park.

On Wednesday, April 29, detectives booked the victim’s 17-year-old brother into the Sedgwick County Juvenile Intake and Assessment Facility. He faces two felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of aggravated child endangerment in connection with the shooting.

The investigation remains ongoing.
