Woman Dies After Crash Southwest of Andale
SEDGWICK COUNTY, Kan. — The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that a 25-year-old Sedgwick County woman has died from injuries she suffered in a two-vehicle crash southwest of Andale.
At approximately 2:06 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, deputies, Sedgwick County Fire District 1 and Sedgwick County EMS responded to an injury crash at the intersection of 53rd Street North and 279th Street West.
The crash involved a Chevrolet Trailblazer and a Chevrolet Silverado pickup that collided in the intersection.
Firefighters extricated the driver of the Trailblazer, 25-year-old Brittany Gondoly of Sedgwick County. EMS transported Gondoly to a Wichita hospital in critical condition. Gondoly died from her injuries Wednesday, Aug. 26.
EMS also transported the driver of the Silverado, a 20-year-old man, to a Wichita hospital with serious injuries.
The preliminary investigation indicates Gondoly was driving the Trailblazer south on 279th Street West while the Silverado was traveling west on 53rd Street North. Investigators believe the Trailblazer failed to yield to the westbound Silverado before the vehicles collided in the intersection.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Team continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
