Aspedon Appointed as County Appraiser

(Sedgwick County, Kan.) – Today, Sedgwick County Commissioners appointed Deanna Aspedon as County Appraiser. Aspedon has been employed by the Appraiser’s Office for 27 years, most recently serving as Residential Project Leader. She succeeds Mark Clark, who served as County Appraiser from Feb. 2020 to June 2025. Deputy Chief Financial Officer Brent Shelton served as Interim County Appraiser during a national search for Clark’s replacement.

“Deanna brings professionalism, knowledge, desire and innovation to this role,” Chairman Ryan Baty said. “Her focus on modernization, communication and customer service will be vital to constituents of Sedgwick County. We are excited to have Deanna leading the Appraiser’s Office.”

Aspedon is a Kansas Registered Mass Appraiser and holds an Assessment Administration Specialist designation from the International Association of Assessing Officers.

“I want to thank the Board of Commissioners for appointing me and allowing me to serve Sedgwick County,” Aspedon said. “Our staff in the Appraiser’s Office is focused on providing residents with an enhanced level of customer service and transparency to benefit property owners across the County.”

The Appraiser’s Office determines value for 236,182 residential, agricultural, multi-family, commercial and industrial parcels, as well as 34,184 personal property accounts.
