Important 2025 Primary Election Dates
(Sedgwick County, Kan.) – The Sedgwick County Election Office is preparing for the 2025 Primary Election on Tuesday, Aug. 5, regarding contests in Wichita City Council District 1, USD 259 Wichita Districts 1 and 5, and a local sales tax question for the City of Maize. Election Commissioner Laura Rainwater is reminding voters of these important dates:
Tuesday, July 15, is the last day Sedgwick County residents can register to vote and be able to cast a ballot in the Primary Election.
- Online voter registration applications are available at: Welcome - Kansas Online Voter Registration (ks.gov).
- Citizens can also register by mail or in person at the Sedgwick County Election Office, 510 N. Main, Suite 101, until 5 p.m.
- Voters can check their registration status at Kansas Secretary of State | VoterView (voteks.org).
Wednesday, July 16, advance ballots for the Primary Election begin mailing.
- Voters can request an advance voting application in person at the Election Office, by calling (316) 660-7100 or emailing voterinformation@sedgwick.gov.
Monday, July 21, early in-person voting begins at the Election Office from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Tuesday, July 29, is the last day to apply for a ballot by mail.
Thursday, July 31, five satellite locations for early in-person voting open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday-Friday and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2:
- Bel Aire City Hall, 7651 E. Central Park Ave., Bel Aire
- Grace Presbyterian Church, 5002 E. Douglas Ave., Wichita
- Maize City Hall, 10100 Grady Ave., Maize
- Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 2727 E. 25th North, Wichita
- Westlink Church of Christ, 10025 W. Central Ave., Wichita
Monday, Aug. 4, advance in-person voting ends at noon at the Election Office.
Tuesday, Aug. 5, is Primary Election Day! Polls are open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at 33 polling sites.
