(Sedgwick County, Kan.) – Earlier today, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) identified a measles exposure at Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 6:15-9 p.m. This exposure is not related to a Sedgwick County measles case.

The Sedgwick County Health Department (SCHD) asks Sedgwick County residents who were at the airport the evening of May 2 to monitor for symptoms through May 23. If symptoms occur, contact SCHD at 316-660-5558 for further evaluation. Sedgwick County residents who are most at risk are those who are unvaccinated or who have not had measles.

SCHD is working with KDHE on this investigation and will contact all known Sedgwick County residents who were potentially exposed.

SCHD does not provide measles testing for the public. Staff will only test known contacts of confirmed measles cases through the disease investigation process.
