Sedgwick County EMS participates in Moving Honors Procession

(Sedgwick County, Kan.) – Sedgwick County EMS will pay its respects to 29 fallen EMS heroes by participating in the National EMS Memorial Service Moving Honors Procession Tuesday, June 10, 2025. The annual tribute recognizes the sacrifices made by EMS first responders across the country who are killed in the line of duty. The procession, featuring the “Tree of Life” ambulance, actually began June 1 in California and will travel through Kansas on its way to Arlington, VA, for a Weekend of Honor event July 19.

Sedgwick County residents are invited to share in this solemn occasion by watching the parade of ambulances through downtown Wichita and attending a memorial service to follow. The Moving Honors Procession, along with Sedgwick County EMS Honor Guard and local ambulances, will head west on Murdock Avenue to Main Street and then travel to Exploration Place (EP) by taking Douglas Avenue to McLean Avenue. Once at EP, a ceremony at the Wichita Foundation Amphitheater, featuring Kansas Senate President Ty Masterson as keynote speaker, will begin at 3 p.m.

The Moving Honors Procession is designed to raise awareness and money to create a permanent EMS memorial, like those honoring fallen firefighters and law enforcement. Donations to National EMS Memorial Service Donations will support this fundraising campaign.
