Sedgwick County Fire District 1 receives donation of life-saving supplies for pets
(Sedgwick County, Kan.) – Sedgwick County Fire District 1 (SCFD 1) is the recipient of a significant donation of equipment crucial for treating animals exposed to smoke in a structure fire. The FETCH Foundation, a nonprofit out of Arizona, will visit Fire Station 32, 7750 N. Wyandotte Way, Park City, on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025, at 1 p.m. to donate nine Essential Fido Bags kits to SCFD 1. Officials from SCFD 1 and The FETCH Foundation will be available to the media.
The FETCH Foundation’s donation will supply SCFD 1 with emergency kits made for first responders to treat animals after fire rescues. Each kit contains a reusable muzzle mask for oxygen administration and other items. The donation value is more than $1,100.
According to The FETCH Foundation, it’s estimated more than a half million pets are affected by fires, with more than 40,000 pet deaths from smoke inhalation. FIDO Bags are custom supplied for fire departments with life-saving tools and training to provide pets the best chance at survival.
