Transfer Stations

In Sedgwick County, discarded material is taken to a transfer station and then to the Plumb Thicket Landfill in Harper County.

Sedgwick County residents are encouraged to self-haul large, bulky items (i.e. tires, appliances, wood waste, brush, etc.) to the transfer stations. CFC-containing appliances such as air conditioners, freezers and refrigerators are accepted at the Waste Connections Transfer Stations and are subject to an additional charge.

Waste Connections owns and operates two transfer stations: one on the northwest corner of 37th St. North and West Street, and the other on the northeast corner of 55th St. South and Hoover Road. For more information call the Waste Connections Transfer Station at 941-4320.

Construction and demolition debris can be hauled to either transfer station or to one of the C&D landfills.
