Upward Mobility

Two meetings were held in April with the same content to provide flexibility and allow more members the opportunity to attend. Members discussed refining two core CHIP goals centered on improving basic needs and expanding financial opportunities.

Proposed Goals:

• Goal 1: Improve basic needs* opportunities to provide paths for upward mobility. (*Basic needs: Food, shelter, safe living conditions)
  • Subgoal/strategy 1: Increase coordination among food system partners to expand community members’ access to healthy food.
  • Subgoal/strategy 2: Housing
    • The workgroup will learn about housing and opportunities for CHIP engagement during 2026. The subgoal wording will be drafted in 2027.
• Draft Goal 2: Increase the awareness of opportunities to improve community members' financial situations.
  • The workgroup will learn about community efforts during 2026. The Goal 2 wording will be finalized later in 2026.

• At the May meeting, Joanna Sabally will present the resource coordination activity.
