The Adopt-A-Highway program allows civic groups and organizations the opportunity to take an active role in helping to keep Sedgwick County clean. Participation is voluntary. Each participating group agrees to “adopt” a two-mile stretch of county road and pick up litter along the right of way two to three times per year. The agreement is effective for two years and renewal is easy.
Sedgwick County Public Works supplies the trash bags and safety vests; just contact the Adopt-A-Highway coordinator at (316) 660-1777 to arrange pick up. Each participant is required to watch a brief safety video provided by the Kansas Department of Transportation. The video is available online by clicking the link above, or a DVD can be provided. Thank you for your interest in helping to keep Sedgwick County clean!
