Sheriff’s Office Announces Relocation of Offender Registration Unit

WICHITA, Kan. — The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office announces that the Offender Registration Unit (ORU) will relocate to the recently renovated Sedgwick County Courthouse Annex, located at 535 N. Main, effective Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025, at 9 a.m. The Annex is located immediately north of the Main Courthouse.

To complete the move, the ORU will be closed on Monday, Dec. 15, 2025. Normal services will resume at the new location when the office reopens on Tuesday.

Visitors will now be able to conveniently access the ORU through its dedicated entrance at the corner of Main and Elm Streets. This move marks the permanent transition from the temporary location on the second floor of the Main Courthouse.

All current services; including offender registration, employment fingerprinting, and concealed carry permits; will continue to be offered at the new site.

The ORU’s hours of operation will remain Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
