Sheriff’s Office Reminds Families to Stay Safe This Halloween

SEDGWICK COUNTY, Kan. – The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office reminds families to stay informed and vigilant as they prepare for Halloween activities. With trick-or-treating right around the corner, the Sheriff’s Office wants the community to plan ahead to ensure a safe and fun evening.

There are more than 1,800 registered sex offenders, 1,000 violent offenders, and 800 drug offenders currently living in Sedgwick County. Community members can use the Sheriff’s Office Offender Search website at https://www.sedgwickcounty.org/offender-search to see where registered offenders live.

The website’s interactive map and address search tools allow users to pinpoint offender locations and plan safe trick-or-treat routes.

Anyone can also sign up for free automatic email alerts to receive notifications when an offender moves into their neighborhood. The alerts are sent in real time as soon as a new offender registers with the Sheriff’s Office Offender Registration Unit.

The Sheriff’s Office encourages all members of the community to make safety a priority this Halloween. Staying informed about offender locations can help families make the best decisions for a safe and enjoyable night of trick-or-treating.

For more information, contact the Offender Registration Unit at 316-660-3939.
