SEDGWICK COUNTY, Kan. — The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office will increase traffic enforcement from May 18 through June 1 as part of the annual Click It or Ticket campaign.

Memorial Day weekend is one of the busiest travel periods of the year, and deputies will be focused on identifying drivers and passengers who are not wearing seat belts. Special attention will be given to ensuring children are properly restrained.

The campaign is a high-visibility effort to raise awareness and enforce seat belt laws. Violators of adult seat belt and child passenger safety laws will be subject to citations. Other traffic violations may also be addressed during this enforcement period.

Click It or Ticket is a nationwide initiative aimed at reducing serious injuries and fatalities on the road by increasing seat belt usage.
