Update – Missing Endangered Person: Ian Alexander Shelton

SEDGWICK COUNTY, Kan. — The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is providing an update in the ongoing investigation into missing and endangered person Ian Alexander Shelton, age 30.

Detectives continue to actively investigate Shelton’s whereabouts. Newly obtained surveillance video confirms that Shelton was at Lake Afton at approximately 2:12 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025.

In the video, Shelton is seen wearing:

  • A gray zip-up hooded sweatshirt
  • A black T-shirt with a white image on the front
  • Blue jeans
  • White Nike shoes

The white 2012 Mazda Miata, Kansas tag 8898ALH, has since been located. However, Shelton himself remains missing.

Anyone who may have seen Shelton or the white Mazda Miata after 2:12 a.m. on Dec. 3, particularly in or around the Lake Afton area, is urged to contact detectives immediately.
