Update on Missing Person Investigation – Ian Alexander Shelton

SEDGWICK COUNTY, Kan. — The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the disappearance of Ian Alexander Shelton, a 30-year-old man reported missing and considered endangered. 

Detectives searched the Lake Afton area earlier today, Dec. 6, 2025. Ian was not located, and detectives continue to investigate his whereabouts. Because of the cold weather and the clothing Ian was last seen wearing, there is continued concern for his safety, and he remains at-risk.

The Sheriff’s Office has become aware of several inaccurate social media posts related to today’s search. We ask the public to do their best to verify information before sharing it, as unconfirmed details can cause unnecessary harm to Ian’s friends and family.
