Pfizer Bivalent Booster Authorized for Certain Young Children Ages 6 months-4 years

On March 14, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorized Pfizer's bivalent COVID-19 vaccine as a single booster dose for young children 6 months through 4 years of age. The booster may be administered at least 2 months after completion of primary vaccination with three doses of Pfizer's monovalent vaccine.

Young children who received Pfizer's bivalent vaccine as a third primary dose are not eligible to receive the booster.

SCHD’s Main Clinic at 2716 W. Central offers the Pfizer vaccine by appointment for children 6 months and older. To schedule, call 316-660-7300. Parent/guardian consent is needed for anyone under 18 to receive a vaccine.
