Clearwater Cluster Update – April 19, 2020

(Sedgwick County, Kan.) – The City of Clearwater, Clearwater Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and Sedgwick County, together confirm a second resident from the Clearwater Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has passed away due to COVID-19. This brings the total of Sedgwick County deaths from COVID-19 to four.

 After the cluster was identified at the Clearwater Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, facility officials tested all residents for COVID-19.All test results for people living in the facility have yet to be returned. Staff may be tested for the disease through the Sedgwick County Health Department or a primary doctor. As of today, there are a total of 13 cases associated with this cluster.

 This is an ongoing situation. Facility officials are following recommendations from the Sedgwick County Health Department and KDHE, and are working to contain the spread of the disease in the Center.
