Mental Health Same Day Assessment Services Moving

Effective Monday, March 9, COMCARE’s Mental Health Same Day Assessment services will move from its current location of 934 N. Water St., Wichita, to 940 N. Waco St., Wichita. COMCARE’s Adult Addiction Services Same Day Assessment is currently at the Waco St. location.

“Consolidating our mental health and addiction intake and assessment services into one location will allow for further expansion of our crisis services,” said Marilyn Cook, COMCARE director.

In 2014, COMCARE completed 4,291 assessments for Sedgwick County residents requesting mental health or addiction services. Crisis Intervention Services handled more than 70,000 calls and provided services to 7,594 persons with a behavioral health crisis.

Same Day Assessment is the first stop for Sedgwick County residents seeking help from COMCARE’s mental health services. Walk-ins are welcome, no appointment necessary Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For more information, call 316-660-7540 or visit www.sedgwickcounty.org.
