*Sedgwick County’s data reflects people who test positive with nasopharyngeal (NP) swab, oropharyngeal (throat) swab, or saliva molecular testing (confirmed COVID-19 cases). The KDHE dashboard differs because it also includes people who are IgM antibody test or antigen test positive if they are linked to a confirmed case or if they have COVID-19 symptoms.

Vaccination Doses Given by Sedgwick County

  • Vaccination appointments are now open for all people aged 16 and older. Schedule an appointment online at www.sedgwickcounty.org/covid-19/vaccine/schedule/ 
    • If you schedule an appointment anytime on Tuesday, April 13 or Thursday, April 15 at 223 S. Main (former Wichita Library) you will receive the one-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine. All other dates and times will be Pfizer vaccine.
    • If a person with a severe medical risk has received medical advice to not go to a large vaccine clinic, such as the community vaccination site at 223 S. Main, please call SCHD at (316) 660-1029 to schedule an appointment for the drive-thru clinic.
  • Appointments are available at the following locations Monday through Saturday
  • 223 S. Main | Former Wichita Central Library | Clinic for eligible people aged 16 and older
  • 777 E. Waterman | Wichita Transit Operations | Drive-thru for eligible people aged 16 and older and who received medical advice to not to go to a large vaccine clinic or who have mobility difficulties
  • Please arrive to your vaccine appointment no more than 15 minutes early and plan to allow at least 45 minutes for the vaccine appointment.

Partner clinics are offered by community partners and assisted by SCHD staff, by appointment only. Contact the host facility to make an appointment.

Sedgwick County Health Department Update

  • No-cost, walk-in testing is regularly available for residents, regardless of symptoms, through the Health Department Monday through Friday, 8:30 to noon. No appointment is required.
    • Operations will take place at the Sedgwick County Park, Sunflower Shelter, 6501 W. 21st St, Wichita, KS, 67205 for saliva, NP, and oral PCR samples
    • Please enter off of 13th Street and follow the signs in the park
    • Results are generally available within 12-24 hours. The Health Department will make three attempts to reach residents with their results.
      • If you receive a voicemail or missed call from the Health Department please call back in order to receive your results.
      • For the quickest response please call (316) 660-1022 and listen for the prompt to leave a message for the results department. 

 Sedgwick County Updates

  • Commissioners adopted a resolution on March 24, 2021 that is currently in place for Sedgwick County and strongly recommends for individuals and businesses a continuation of healthy behaviors – being vaccinated when eligible, wearing a mask, and social distancing – through June 21, 2021.
  • Please join us Tuesday, April 13 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for a Myths and Facts: COVID-19 Vaccine Town Hall at Wichita North High School. Trusted sources will be onsite to dispel myths and ensure you are getting accurate information about the vaccine.
