Sedgwick County Updates

  • A new local health order took effect at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, December 10 and will remain in effect until Saturday, January 9.
  • Following CDC and KDHE guidelines, Sedgwick County has adopted new quarantine guidelines for residents exposed to COVID-19 positive people, or who have traveled, but do not have symptoms of and have not tested positive for COVID-19. Regardless of modified timeframes, a 14-day quarantine is still considered the gold standard for avoiding further spread of COVID-19.
  • It’s National Influenza Vaccination Week! This week is another reminder that there is still time to roll your sleeve up and get your annual flu shot to protect yourself and your loved ones. It’s especially important for people with certain chronic conditions like asthma, heart disease, and diabetes to get vaccinated. To learn more please visit https://www.cdc.gov/flu/prevent/vaccine-benefits.htm.
  • Remember to complete the COVID-19 vaccination survey by December 14!
    • The survey results will help Sedgwick County learn what concerns people may have about the vaccine and what resources people use to learn about COVID-19.
  • All CARES program portals are closed. Organizations have until Dec. 30, 2020 to spend CARES funding.

Prevention Measures

  • Remember the three W’s to prevent the spread of COVID-19:
    • Wash your hands with soap and water often
    • Wear a mask or face covering
    • Watch your distance – keep six feet of space between you and others who are not in your household
