The KDHE dashboard differs because it also includes people who are IgM antibody test or antigen test positive if they are linked to a confirmed case or if they have COVID-19 symptoms.

Vaccination Doses Given by Sedgwick County

  • Vaccination appointments are open for all people aged 12 and older. Schedule an appointment online at www.sedgwickcounty.org/covid-19/vaccine/schedule/ or walk-in during clinic hours.
    • The one-dose Johnson and Johnson (J&J) vaccine is available by walk-in or appointment daily as supply allows.
    • Everyone, especially minors, are encouraged to eat a meal or snack prior to arriving to prevent any nausea that may occur following your vaccination.
    • If you are receiving a vaccine, the Sedgwick County Health Department asks that you are well hydrated before and after receiving your dose.
    • If your physician has advised you not to go to a large vaccine clinic, such as the community vaccination site at 223 S. Main, please call SCHD at (316) 660-1029 or schedule an appointment online for the drive-thru clinic.
  • The following locations are open to residents for walk-in or appointments:
  • 223 S. Main | Former Wichita Central Library | Clinic for eligible people aged 12 and older
  • 777 E. Waterman | Wichita Transit Operations | Drive-thru for eligible people aged 12 and older and who received medical advice to not to go to a large vaccine clinic or who have mobility difficulties
  • After Thursday, June 24, SCHD will no longer operate the COVID-19 drive-thru vaccination clinic at Wichita Transit Operations, 777 E. Waterman, due to decreased demand for the drive-thru.
  • The last days of the drive-thru clinic will be June 17 and 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Other SCHD COVID-19 vaccine clinic locations will remain open, including mobile clinics and the main community clinic at the former Wichita Public Library at 223 S. Main in Wichita.
  • Please plan to allow at least 45 minutes for your vaccine appointment.
  • To find a vaccine clinic near you, visit https://www.vaccines.gov/search/ and enter your zip code. You can also check with your doctor’s office or community health center to find out if the vaccine is offered there.

Sedgwick County Updates

  • On May 19, the Sedgwick County Board of County Commissioners voted to amend the current resolution and strongly recommended individuals get the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as they are eligible, consistent with CDC recommendations. The adopted resolution also encourages businesses and organizations to determine, in their best judgment, whether to require individuals to wear masks or other face coverings and/or to social distance from one another while visiting a business.
  • The National Council on Aging (NCOA) is partnering with Lyft to provide access to reliable, affordable transportation to older adults who need a ride to the get to their COVID-19 vaccine .
